Putting My Experience
He works with Transforming Youth Movement (TYM) as the Coordinator of Community Service, a nonprofit that helps change the lives of at-risk young people in Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus counties. TYM is inspiring positive social change and community transformation through youth. Previously, he was an educator in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and Union County Public Schools as well as Communities In Schools of Mecklenburg County, serving as the first Executive Director of Communities In Schools of Richmond County.
John J. Kirkpatrick, IV has over 15 years of experience working with children and families in education and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Kirkpatrick has a BA in political science from Morris College and is a graduate of Forest Hills High School. He was the recipient of a scholarship from Women for Progress in Union County and the NAACP. He is the founder and CEO/President of The Village Development Center and founder and Senior Pastor of Rehoboth Church of Monroe, North Carolina.
